What this service is

isitaspam.com is a free AI-assisted scam-detection tool operated by Daryna Fornalska as part of the Varta product family. You paste a message or upload an image, and our pipeline gives you a verdict (safe / suspicious / dangerous) along with the signals behind it.

How to use it (and how not to)

Allowed:

• Pasting suspicious messages you received and want to verify.
• Uploading screenshots of conversations for OCR analysis.
• Sharing result pages publicly (after opting in) to help others avoid the same scam.

Not allowed:

• Pasting CSAM, hate speech targeting protected groups, or other illegal content. We'll delete such submissions immediately and may report to authorities where required by law.
• Trying to deceive the classifier (prompt injection attempts, deliberately misclassifying content) at scale or for malicious purposes.
• Automated scraping or wrappers without our written permission. We may rate-limit or block at our discretion.
• Pasting other people's private information without their consent.

Accuracy disclaimer

The verdicts on this service are AI-generated heuristics. They are not infallible. Modern AI models can be:

• Wrong about novel scam variants they haven't seen.
• Wrong about borderline messages (real businesses with awkward phrasing, e.g.).
• Tricked by adversarial inputs (some scammers deliberately embed instructions to flip the verdict).

Use our verdict as one signal among several. Don't treat it as legal, financial, medical, or safety advice. If you're about to send money, sign a contract, or take an irreversible action — verify the sender through a separate channel regardless of what we say.

Brand names

Messages you paste may mention real brands (Binance, Coinbase, PayPal, etc.). Our analysis quoting those names is nominative fair use — we're describing what the message claims to be. Brand names mentioned remain the property of their respective owners. Nothing here implies endorsement by any brand.

Intellectual property

Our software, design, and accumulated scam corpus are property of Varta / Daryna Fornalska. Don't redistribute or repackage the service.

Content you paste — you grant us a non-exclusive license to process, analyze, and (if you opt in) publish a PII-scrubbed version on a /check/{slug} page. You retain all other rights.

DMCA / copyright

If you believe content on the service infringes your copyright, send a DMCA notice to hello@isitaspam.com with the required information (identification of the work, the URL, your contact info, statements of good faith and accuracy, and your signature). We act on valid notices promptly.

Liability

The service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, isitaspam, Varta, and Daryna Fornalska are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service — including but not limited to financial loss from acting (or not acting) on a verdict.

Aggregate liability for any claim related to the service is capped at $100 USD or the amount you paid us in the past 12 months (whichever is greater — and since the service is free, that's $100).

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms occasionally. The "last updated" date below reflects the most recent change. Continued use of the service after a change constitutes acceptance.

Disputes

For users in the United States: disputes are resolved by binding individual arbitration in the state of Delaware under AAA rules. You and we waive class actions.

For users elsewhere: applicable consumer protection law in your jurisdiction governs.
